Pancakes for breakfast on the beach this morning at Josh Angulo's

Just after this we took the Canon 5d into the sea in it's underwater enclosure bag (from ewamarine). Operation keep sand and water out of the camera and don't obliterate it in the process, has been a resounding success.. Boarding now so will see you on the other side... ------------

Before I attempt to run back down the beach through the storm back to our apartment and away from the bright light of the internet here are a few shots I took whilst shooting.. and a cat.

What has been completely invaluable on this trip is the pop up reflector we brought along, absolutely essential for getting even lighting on a subject whilst shooting that paradise backdrop ;)

Now I must get out if here.. as I have foolishly brought no mosquito protection out with me am soaking wet and a prime candidate for atom by atom deconstruction by the little blighters. Will try and return to empty my iPhone of random video tomorrow..

Met these beach pups today down at http://www.angulocaboverde.com/ a little surf/food/cafe shack on the beach across from the apartment we are staying in, awesome burgers, run by wind surfing champion Josh Angulo. Even though undoubtedly he is hugely successful guy, he is incredibly welcoming even serving the food up to you himself. Awesome place right on the corner of the island you should check out if you get the chance. Plus there are puppies..

We shot an interview with Josh where he talks about the island and his place, which will either end up in the final video or I will put it online as a stand alone.

My plan to blog this trip as I go along has been fatally wounded by the lack of data coverage, there is a great wifi network at points across the island but shooting schedule has been so packed I haven't had a chance to investigate where you buy the mysterious vouchers to access it.

Getting set for take off, making sure I know where all the exits, life vests and jetpacks are. (incase of birdman attack)

About to attempt to check in the overweight bag the size of Belgium rammed full of camera track, tripods, light stands etc. Just act natural, don't make any sudden moves and try not to stand out..
